Euro-India Centre Network Cities

The Euro-India Centre was founded in 2001 as a private institution exclusively dedicated to the reactivation of the former Euro-India Society. This was with the intention of prioritising areas such as business, education, science and technology, municipal administration, I.T., biotechnology and the media. The aims of the centre are:

  • Interesting meetings for multi-lateral exchange.
  • To offer sources of information, analysis and know-how.
  • Transcultural training centre.
  • Permanent observatory for the two communities.
  • Meeting point for the members of the Euro-India Association.

The Euro-India Centre was founded with the intention of checking two worrying tendencies:

  • The new Europe has focused on China in the search for oriental markets. In the mid 90s the European investment in China was 7 times greater than that of India.
  • The new India has focused on The USA in search of opportunities in the West. In 2000, India sold 5 times more I.T. services to The USA than to Europe and 7 times more Indians chose The USA instead of Europe for courses in higher education.

Valladolid is the first European city to form part of the Euro-India Centre.
