Valladolid Language and Culture
In 2004 the first Agreement to use Spanish as an economic resource was signed, in collaboration with the Town Council, the Provincial Government, the University and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The four institutions are interested in renewing this agreement, year after year, which aims to promote, in different ways, the province’s economy, considering that the Spanish language is an important economic resource which Valladolid is counting on as part of its economic and tourist development.
The text of the Agreement states that “promoting the teaching of Spanish will have a positive effect, not only in respect of promoting the knowledge of our language and province at international level but also as regards the indirect benefit caused by the arrival of foreign students, which will help many economic sectors and give the economy a boost”.
